I am a bit disappointed with myself for the time I spend sitting about at the computer. The longer you do it, the greater your chances of devolving your future offspring and their offspring and so on. Yes, devolution. The human species as we know it will lose whatever few physical traits and instinct we had of survival in the course of a few generations. Our posture will change to accommodate sitting and slouching. Our legs may shorten in length as they are just limp objects as people serve their office overlords and walk and run shorter distances. Our lungs and hearts will degenerate since there are fewer situations where we need to exert ourselves physically. We no longer hunt nor do we flee from any dangers.
This is the age of decadence. The most intelligent(but not necessarily the strongest) species on the planet has wiped out all of its obstacles with the help of tools and technology. And once we were clear of problems, we presented ourselves with a new set of dangers - dangers we are helpless from. I present you disease, starvation, obesity, religion, global warming, and much more.
If you practiced filmmaking daily, running around with a handheld, perhaps one of your offspring or future generations will evolve into a three-legged, four-armed being - a potential for the ultimate filmmaker. With his/her/its three-legs (we'll call this being a 'he' for now), he will be able to run and gun and stabilize a camera. He may also have springy suspension like tension in his hip bones for extra smooth camera movement. The four arms - two for the camera, two for a boom. He has not evolved to have more arms for lighting and stuff but he is the most superior being yet. He can produce movies quiet effectively, a real one man crew. He will be awkward around women. Hence he will be asexual. Also, most people will probably be bipedal still around his time. Sucks to be him.
Viva la evolucion.

The true rebel^
Getting ready to shoot your movie? Writing?
Do your PUSHUPS! Get down and gimme fifty! Exercise is free and it will make you hold a camera more steadily and longer without tire. Balance and muscle stamina. Don't be a wimp. Evolution has made us able to craft and use tools like tripods, but it has also stand upright. So use those damn legs of yours. Prosumer cams are under 5lb. Lift some weights, make yourself a machine. Be the ultimate camera accessory. It's in you and it's free!

Being a Rebel.
I'll always have trouble answering a question like what have I accomplished. I will put down (unusual) things I've done that I am particularly proud of:
-cut my own hair
-cut someone else's hair
-work out at home (not paying a cent to those loser franchises)
-teach myself boxing
-everything filmmaking
-learn how to fix my own car most of the time
people I hate seeing getting money:
-mechanics
-barbers/"hair stylists"
-taxi drivers
-producers
-the financial world (we're having a laugh at their expense right now)
-doctors and their co-pays (i can think of a million things to do with $10, let alone $1)
-homeless people
-beggars
-many more people that i can't think of right now

CHANGES IN PRODUCTION (as I am also my own producer... ahhhh, the broke life)
Ideal Camera - Red Scarlet
Probable Camera - HMC150
Budget cap before - $10k
Now - $5k seems safe enough
I should make a half page contact/credit list and such and such.
I have wardrobe, prop, equipment, locations lists that I am completing.

Getting work is hard. Why can't it be like a videogame? I just finished the second stage. First stage is actually pretty hard - even finding a listing! Second stage - I passed a test in deciphering the cryptic message and I entered my own password back to them.
Third stage - they replied to me...
Isn't there a button [Feed them lies!] that I can just press over and over until their head engorges and explodes and then I win?
Hope I pass stage three and move onto the fourth level - the interview. After that, there's even a fifth stage - the thank you letter. Then... the final stage - bumping the competition dweebs off the map. Hopefully no game over for me.
If I get some sort of job, how will my casting/shooting go? Will I need to use up vacation days and sync up with a long/weekend combo? Any remaining shots will have to be shot on nights or weekends. This will just force me to plan better and be tighter.

Hisashiburi da ne...
Being a filmmaker (not just a director or just one role) means being a problem solver. Nothing but problem solving. You create a series of problems for yourself, you start solving them one by one, you end up creating more and more problems, but you keep conquering them, then you rejoice in your success... until you create another new project.
Just the writing part is a headache. I printed out 77 pages or so because it was chaos revising on the computer. I wrote a ton of notes as I read through. I haven't even written an appropriate ending and my story keeps changing (improving). As I flip through my paper copy, I make changes on the computer. But, I also start changing the story because there were a lot of weak parts. Had I written a real ending before, I may have had a draft and maybe I'd be on my 3rd or 4th revision. But instead right now it's like my 3rd or 4th version of something incomplete. What a problem eh? 77 pages became 84 pages suddenly even as I removed lines and lines of pointless self-notes and crap.
Let's see what happens in a week. I'm getting kind of happy with the progress I'm making.
For the record, I started writing before I watched many older movies which include similar ideas. It was original to me and that matters the most. It is a little frustrating to see it already done
